Seems every household needs a dog.

Dog available

A three year old Havanese ( Dash) is available to the right home.   He's one of ours, but the family has an illness that will not allow them to keep the dog. This is a high energy, fearless dog who loves people, kids and other dogs no matter what size.  He would make an excellent agility dog and if I could keep him I would.  Preference will be given to an agility home and a home with children  and other dogs.  He will not be shipped.

Had a wonderful visit with Allie's owner Jan Naigus who lives here in Florida

Things I wish I had known 15 years ago when I started showing and breeding.

These are the things I'm going to insist that my puppy people do.

1a: I would like to say that each and every dog would get home-cooked meals, it really isn't that hard when you do it in the one pot style I do, but I know most people won't want to do that.  So, the next best thing is feeding them a kibble like Orijen where the ingredients come ONLY from Canadian sources. Don't trust them to stick to that   - check on a regular basis.

AND/OR

b:  Give them at least four egg yolks a week, after a year of age you can throw in the whites as well.

2:  Oral care:

It's worth joining the Clinicians Brief btw.

I don't have time to brush all my dogs' teeth so I give them deer antlers which mine chew with enthusiasm.  The bigger the antler the better they like it.  They've been doing this for about seven years now and none have ever broken or cracked a tooth.  HOWEVER, some toy dogs are not born with a strong chewing drive like many other breeds, so the brushing and cleaning is important.
